• Learn About Three Chord Types
• Create More Melodic Solos
• Unlock The Secrets of Playing The Changes
Playing The Changes is an intermediate-level mandolin workshop for the mandolin player looking for a straightforward method to develop better solos/breaks. This approach works in various musical styles, including jazz, country, bluegrass, and blues.
Music Theory Alert: This workshop deals with chord tones being referred to by letter names (A, B, C, etc.), so students should know (or be willing to learn) the names of the notes and where they are located on the mandolin fingerboard.
I have included a bonus course called "Getting To Know The Notes" which you can access as soon as you sign up so you can get up to speed on the names of notes by October 10, when the live workshop opens.
Remember that notes are like people in that they appreciate it when we remember their names.
Don Julin, author of the best-selling "Mandolin For Dummies," has developed a reputation for being one of the most eclectic mandolin players/teachers on the scene today. Based in Traverse City, Michigan, Don has been playing, teaching, and writing music with the mandolin for over 35 years.
His workshops, classes, or private lessons feature a hands-on approach focusing on developing good left- and right-hand skills, along with a dose of ear training and music theory. Don spends much of his time teaching at mandolin camps around America and running the online mandolin school Mandolins Heal The World.

Some people have asked if they need to be present at the "Live" sessions. Of course, it is best if you can, but you will be able to access this complete workshop at any time in the future. All workshop elements will be recorded and uploaded to the Double-Stop Weekend homepage, and you will have unlimited access to these recordings, PDFs, practice tracks, and more. So, you can still access the entire workshop, no matter your work schedule, timezone, or prior commitments. The only part you will miss out on is the live Q&A sessions called Office Hours, but these, too, are recorded.
